The clerk oversees the election of new leaders in each
assembly. The current method for election of principal officers in the
two legislative chambers is an open secret, but the All Progressives
Congress (APC) which is expected to produce the next crop of leaders is
said to be advocating for a different method.

The anti-graft agency asked Sani-Omolori for the records of the financial dealings of the national assembly.

“Sani-Omolori,
whose international passport was seized by the anti-graft agency, was
said to have duly cooperated with EFCC officers,” the report said.

The agency is reportedly set to also invite the clerks of the senate, house of representatives and their deputies.
